The new mk2 TX auto-sizing solution for Challenge 3-side trimmers transforms your CMT trimmer into a versatile, on-demand, finishing solution for true book-of-one environments. With TX you can do series, shortrun and single-copies on one single machine with lightning fast, toolless size changes for both nearline and inline configurations.

The basic idea is simple - TX takes control of your trimmer by scanning (production) barcodes from the bookcover. These barcodes are positioned outside the cutting-area so they will be removed during the cutting proces without leaving a trace on your final books. Incoming barcodes are validated by the system and transformed from human readable digits into machine-code to provide the trimmer with his next command. The machine is then auto-sized to its new job without the need for any operator interference!

The system is suitable for both nearline and inline configurations with a perfectbinder, comes as a full plug-and-play solution with our custom ControlBox and can be installed within a 2 hour timeframe!

The system is based on our jobTicket approach which means that the job 'travels' with the book while the cutting dimensions are enclosed in the barcode. For facilities who are in need for more functionalities in the field of network enabled connections, realtime monitoring and data acquisition, ISBN handling and/or jobID approaches with cutting dimensions based on XML metadata we have our TXE solution available which is tailormade upon customer-request.
